We are excited to announce that Polyhedral Structures Laboratory has won the Eventscape Inventory Constrained Design Competition. Hosted by Eventscape, it is a design competition putting the spotlight on parametric design and advanced manufacturing processes to give new life and purpose to a pile of unwanted wood. PSL is listed as one of the three finalists and receives the Judges’ Choice.

Our design Dove Wave is a wood-stacking shell system that maximizes structural depth. It uses black locust wood efficiently, creating minimized waste, maximized performance, and a compelling form with intelligent structural geometry. With algorithmic optimization, this proposal achieves 96% stock utilization.
