PSL Exhibits at NYCxDesign 2022

Polyhedral Structures Laboratory and Evenscape NY had an exhibition and a roundtable as part of the NYCxDesign event. This event was organized by Eventscape NY and was held at their facilities in Long Island City. At this event, the 3-meter prototype of the glass bridge was exhibited alongside the Saltatur structure.

The event was started with an introduction by Nader Tehrani, the Dean of The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union, and followed by presentations by Gareth Brennan and Alireza Seyedahmadian, Dr. Masoud Akbarzadeh, Assistant Professor & Director of the Polyhedral Structures Laboratory; Dr. Joseph Robert Yost, Professor & Director of Graduate Studies Villanova University; Dr. Mohammad Bolhassani, Assistant Professor City College of New Yor, and Yao Lu, Ph.D. student at the Polyhedral Structures Lab and Weitzman School of Design. After the presentation, a roundtable discussion was held with the attendance of Winka Dubbeldam, Miller Professor, Chair of Architecture, Director of Advanced Research & Innovation Lab (ARI); Catie Newell, the Director of the Master of Science in Digital and Material Technologies and Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Michigan; and Nat Oppenheimer, Senior Vice President at Robert Silman and Associates, and the presenters to discuss the future of advanced manufacturing in the field of architecture and engineering.
